A package of 50 of the juvenile stage of the predator Cryptolaemus. This insect is quite similar in appearance to the prey it feeds on. The larvae are no bigger than 1 cm and are covered in long white fluff. This allows it to move in and out of mealy infestations at ease. This sneaky predator is quite literally a wolf in sheeps clothing! Though unable to fly, these larvae can easily source out the mealy through its excellent sense of smell. Once the mealy is located, the Crypt larvae will stay in the area until it is clean. The Crypt larvae should be released as soon as the product is received. Gently remove the shredded packing material and place into infested areas. Any remaining larvae should be removed with a small paintbrush and placed directly onto the plant material. The larvae are soft and delicate and can be easily killed if you attempt to pick them up with your fingers. Used alone, or in conjunction with the adult Cryptolaemus, they provide a highly effective control against all stages of mealybug.
